Making Tax Digital (MTD) – From April 2026
From 6 April 2026, HMRC is introducing Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax Self Assessment.
If you are:
- Self-employed, or
- A landlord
with income over £50,000, you will need to:
- Keep digital records
- Submit quarterly updates to HMRC
- Complete a final end-of-year declaration
From April 2027, this will also apply to those earning over £30,000.
